Eerste VNM-fellowship naar dr. Wan Jusoh

Op 3 december vond bij Naturalis Biodiversity Center in Leiden een interessante bijeenkomst van de Vereniging Nederland-Maleisië (VNM) plaats over de (digitale) repatriëring van natuurhistorische collecties. VNM-bestuurslid en staflid van Naturalis prof. Menno Schilthuizen sprak over de repatriëring van natuurhistorische collecties in het algemeen. Hierna gaf dr. Wan Jusoh een presentatie. Zij had een prachtig, en met enthousiasme gebracht, verhaal over vuurvliegjes in Maleisië en over de indrukwekkende reuzenglimwormen van Kuala Lumpur.

In aanwezigheid van dr. Mohd Norhisyam Mohd Yusof, Minister Counsellor/Chargé d’affaires ad interim of the embassy of Malaysia ontving dr. Wan Yusoh vervolgens uit handen van VNM-voorzitter Bert Lever, de eerste VNM-fellowship voor haar werk aan de digitale repatriëring van vuurvliegjes uit de collecties van Naturalis.

First VNM fellowship to Dr. Wan Jusoh

On the 3th of December, an interesting meeting  of the Netherlands-Malaysia Association (VNM) took place at Naturalis Biodiversity Center at Leiden about the (digital) repatriation of natural history collections. VNM board member and member of the staff of Naturalis Prof. Menno Schilthuizen talked about the repatriation of natural history collections in general. Subsequently Dr. Wan Jusoh gave a nice, and brought with entusiasm, presentation about fireflies in Malaysia and the impressive giant glow-worms of Kuala Lumpur.

In the presence of Dr. Mohd Norhisyam Mohd Yusof, Minister Counselor / Chargé d’affaires ad interim of the embassy of Malaysia, Dr. Wan Yusoh subsequently received from the hands of VNM president Bert Lever, the first VNM fellowship for her work on digital repatriation of fireflies from the Naturalis collections.
